1. Who we are

2. Information we collect
We collect only what we need to answer inquiries and deliver contracted work.
- Information you give us: your name, email address, telephone number, organization, and the content of any message you send through the contact form, by email or by phone.
- Engagement information: contact details of client staff, meeting notes, scheduling details and invoicing information for organizations that engage us.
- Aggregate program data: anonymous survey responses and attendance counts collected during programs. These are not linked to named individuals.
- Technical information: when you visit the website, our hosting provider records standard server log data such as IP address, browser type, referring page and time of request, for security and reliability purposes.
- Cookie data: as described in our Cookie Policy, and only to the extent you consent.
3. What we do not collect
We do not knowingly collect personal health information through this website. Please do not submit medical details, diagnoses, test results or clinical questions through the contact form. We do not collect payment card details on this website; invoices are handled separately through our accounting and banking providers.
We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
4. How we use information
- To respond to your inquiry and schedule a discovery call.
- To prepare proposals, deliver contracted services and issue invoices.
- To produce aggregate, non-identifying reports for clients and funders.
- To maintain records required for accounting, tax and insurance purposes.
- To keep the website secure and functioning.
- With your consent, to measure how visitors find and use our pages so we can improve them.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with data brokers.
5. Legal bases
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we rely on: your consent (for optional cookies and marketing communication), performance of a contract (delivering services you engaged us for), our legitimate interest in responding to inquiries and securing our website, and compliance with legal obligations such as tax record keeping.
6. Sharing
We share personal information only with service providers who help us operate, each bound by confidentiality obligations: our website hosting provider, our email provider, our accounting software provider, and contracted facilitators or interpreters working on your engagement. We may also disclose information where required by law, court order or to protect our legal rights.
Employers who engage us never receive individual employee survey responses. Program results are reported in aggregate only, and never for a group smaller than eight respondents.
7. International transfers
We operate in the United States and our providers store data in the United States. If you contact us from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed there.
8. Retention
Inquiry correspondence is retained for up to 24 months. Client engagement records, contracts and invoices are retained for seven years to meet accounting and insurance requirements. Anonymous aggregate program data may be retained indefinitely because it does not identify individuals. Server logs are retained by our host for a short rolling period.
9. Security
The website is served over HTTPS. Access to our email, files and accounting systems is restricted to the owner and protected by strong passwords and multi-factor authentication. Printed sign-in sheets and handouts collected on site are stored in a locked cabinet and destroyed at the end of the retention period. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request access to the personal information we hold about you, correction of inaccurate information, deletion of information we no longer need, a copy of information you provided in a portable format, restriction of or objection to certain processing, and withdrawal of consent at any time. North Carolina and other U.S. residents may also have rights under applicable state privacy law, including the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them.
To make a request, email cnotact@drlaquethanelson.com with the subject line “Privacy request”. We respond within 30 days and may ask for information to verify your identity.
11. Do Not Track and opt-outs
Our site does not respond to browser Do Not Track signals in a standardized way, but no optional cookies are set unless you accept them in our consent banner. You can change your choice at any time using the cookie settings link in the footer.
12. Third-party links
Our pages may link to external websites such as mapping services or public health resources. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices. Review their policies before providing information to them.
13. Changes to this policy
We update this policy when our practices change. The revision date at the top of the page always reflects the current version. Material changes will be noted on the homepage for at least 30 days.
14. Contact us
Questions, requests or complaints about privacy can be sent to the owner directly.
